CNC Brake Press Operator

Responsibilities/Duties:

Setup and Operation:

• Set up the brake press according to the job requirements, including adjusting tooling, back gauge, and ram settings.
• Operate the CNC press to bend, cut, and shape metal sheets or plates into specified forms with high precision.
• Use CNC programming techniques to input bending sequences, ensuring accuracy in the production of parts.

Quality Control:

• Inspect materials and finished products using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure they meet blueprint specifications.
• Perform first-piece inspection and ongoing quality checks during production runs.

Maintenance:

• Conduct routine maintenance on the press brake to ensure optimal functionality, including oil and filter changes, and degreasing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the machine to minimize downtime.

Material Handling:

• Load and unload materials and parts from the machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and tools needed for operation.
• Forklift experience is a plus.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and company policies while operating the brake press.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of production, including setups, tooling, and any adjustments made in ERP digital system.
• Document issues and solutions for future reference.

Skills, Qualifications, and Characteristics:

• Previous CNC Brake Press Operation experience
• Proficiency in using CNC controls for programming and machine operation.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
• Knowledge and discipline in tracking job progress with a digital system
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and work instructions
• Knowledge of tooling setup, including selecting appropriate dies and punches for different jobs.
• Good manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
