What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at MA Metal?
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Conduct First Piece & layout inspection on metal laser cut, press brake, press/stamped, welded, and/or assembled, parts manufactured at MA Metals.
- Conduct Receiving Inspection of incoming material and purchased parts.
- Ensure Inspection & measuring equipment/ gages used in the plant are maintained, calibrated and controlled through the Gage Control System.
- Conduct Gage R&R and Process Capability Studies as required.
- Work Cross Functionally in Problem Solving, utilizing QMS tools (8D, 5 Why, Fish bone diagram, etc.), to determine True Root Cause whenever a quality issue is reported internally or externally.
- Conduct Final Audits, Dock Audits, Patrol Inspections, Layered Process Audits, Internal Audits and any other forms of inspections to ensure that products manufactured at MA Metal meets or exceeds the expectations set by its customers.
- Supports Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and related documentation such as Flow Charts, Control Plans, and FMEA’s (Failure Mode Effect Analysis)
- Assists in document control activities and maintain records to comply with ISO 9001 and / or IATF 16949 requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining records for all data related to Raw materials, Production Records (IIR), Receiving Inspection Records, Calibration Records.
- Supports manufacturing processes throughout the organization to improve efficiency and coordinate in product improvement activities.
