What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Help Desk Technician position at Maaps?
Riverview School is an independent, boarding/day school for adolescents and young adults with complex language, learning, and cognitive disabilities.
We have an immediate opening for an IT Help Desk Technician.
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic computer issues for employees, ensuring minimal disruption to their workflow.
- Act as a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment.
- Collaborate with the Director of Technology to implement system upgrades and security enhancements.
- Document and maintain accurate records of computer systems, software licenses, and procedures.
- Maintain courses and users in learning management system.
- Troubleshoot problem areas in person, by telephone, or via e-mail in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.
- Maintain IT ticketing system.
- Relocate IT equipment including desktop computers, printers, and monitors.
- Diagnose hardware and software failures, communicate the remediation plans to users, and provide status updates.
- Connect and configure devices for use on the network.
- Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for escalating issues in a timely manner through the proper escalation channel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the IT Technician may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl and use hands and fingers, sometimes for extended periods. This position requires the ability to walk a distance and for extended periods to/from and amongst various buildings dispersed on our 6-acre campus and at off-site building locations. Also requires the ability to lift, push, pull or carry weighted items or equipment up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Other Requirements:
Legal authorization to work in the US
Suitable background check (CORI,SORI, DCF) and Fingerprinting required.
Valid driver’s license
