Full job description
Learning Prep School in Newton, MA is hiring Substitute Teachers to fill in as needed for teacher absences in Middle and High School classes of all subjects (academic subjects, electives, etc) for the 2024-2025 School Year.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a community that makes learning accessible to our students in a nurturing and welcoming environment. Our substitutes provide coverage support in our Middle and High School academic classes and Middle and High School elective classes. All our classes have 8 or fewer students with student sub work left by the absent teachers. The ideal candidate for this position will be flexible, willing to work with students of all age levels, and be good communicators. Subs may be scheduled in advanced or called in the night before/morning of when unexpected absences occur.
Our students have complex learning needs and we are committed to providing them with the education they deserve! LPS is a school for kids with complex profiles whose primary area of need is a language-based learning disability. While we are not a therapeutic setting or a program for students with significant behavioral support needs, we do offer speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and counseling as part of our service delivery model.
