Department: Operations Reports to: Remote Operations Manager Compensation: Hourly starting range $20 – 28; Commensurate to skills and experience Hours: 40-45 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The position includes some on-call hours during evenings and weekends. There will be some expected travel, on average 2 trips per month, with some overnights. Multi-night trips are rare, perhaps once every 2 months.  Benefits:  Two weeks paid vacation.  Eight paid holidays per year. Two paid flexible holidays per year. Place of Work: Corporate Headquarters - 1730 South Street, Redding, CA 96001   Maas Energy Works is the leading developer and operator of on-farm, waste-to-energy systems in the United States. The Company designs, develops, constructs, and operates biogas renewable energy generation systems, primarily on dairy farms. Our projects include anaerobic digesters, biogas-powered electric generation, and renewable natural gas upgrading.   Position Description:    Maas Energy Works (MEW) is seeking a new Operations Technician to support and maintain the ongoing operations of projects throughout the western United States. These facilities are located on host dairy farms, where an anaerobic digester produces renewable biomethane gas which is processed on site and then either used to power lean burn piston electric power generators or is delivered into a private natural gas pipeline network operated by the company. Our operations team is split into office staff (this position) and field staff that work on the job sites. Office staff’s close coordination with company field staff ensures high quality outcomes for operations and good relationships with partners, and overall accountability. The role of the office staff is to  remotely monitor and troubleshoot electrical generation equipment, biogas cleanup facilities, and biogas pipelines, including ordering parts and materials.     A high degree of organization and systems awareness will be required for this position. Many skills can be learned on the job from existing experts, and the job has opportunity for advancement.   Responsibilities:   Remotely monitor and troubleshoot issues at assigned digester facilities and cleanup plants  Communicate regularly with Field Ops Manager and on-site operators to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment Travel to digester sites and cleanup facilities once per month Be an avid learner, and support ROM in the monthly operations reports Requires extensive communication via email, text, phone   Qualifications & Skills: Must be proficient in English Additional proficiency in Spanish is helpful but not required  Strong written and verbal communication skills Mechanical equipment knowledge  Able to learn customized applications such as MaintainX, TeamViewer, Intelimonitor, and various SCADA equipment Self-motivated Able to quickly learn extensive industry specific skills and methods General understanding of internal combustion engines is preferred but not required Must possess valid US driver's license   Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
