Position Description The Regional Director of Renewable Gas Placement is responsible for expanding the placement and utilization of Maas Energy Works’ carbon-negative Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) in regional markets. This role requires expertise in the RIN (Renewable Identification Number) and LCFS (Low Carbon Fuel Standard) renewable gas markets, as well as a strong understanding of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and its implications for renewable energy initiatives. The role focuses on originating and managing biogas offtake contracts, building relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring the company leverages regulatory opportunities to maximize revenue and environmental impact.
Responsibilities
Market Expansion: Identify and secure opportunities for RNG placement in regional markets, focusing on truck fleets, universities, utilities, municipalities, and corporations.
Bid Participation: Identify, register and ready bid submissions for municipal RNG RFPs.
Contract Management: Lead negotiations for biogas offtake agreements, ensuring compliance with RIN, LCFS, and IRA regulations.Regulatory Expertise: Stay updated on policies related to the RIN & LCFS markets and the Inflation Reduction Act advising internal teams on strategic implications.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with energy brokers, utilities, gas transportation companies, and potential offtakers.
Business Development: Develop and execute regional strategies for RNG placement, including market assessments and financial analysis.
Representation: Represent the company at regional and national industry events, fostering connections and promoting Maas Energy Works’ RNG solutions.
Reporting: Analyze and report on market trends, project performance, and placement outcomes to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
Proven experience in renewable fuels or energy markets, with knowledge of GHG reduction policies and regulations.
Strong financial and data analysis skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VBA preferred) and other Office applications.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with excellent communication, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
Availability for occasional travel to client meetings and industry events.
Knowledge of the biogas, renewable natural gas, or waste-to-energy industries is a plus.
Must be proficient in English
