Travel is reimbursed at the currently approved mileage rate. nThis primarily remote position serves as the primary immunization program liaison for Vaccines for Children (VFC) enrolled offices located in Marion Count, Indiana. The incumbent will oversee a suite of onsite visits focused on program compliance.nThe Immunization Division is one of six divisions within the Public Health Protection and Laboratory Services Commission of the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH The ISDH Immunization Division is one of 61 states and US territories funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to develop, implement, assess, and promote immunization-related activities with the goal of achieving and sustaining high immunization coverage, reducing vaccination disparities, and decreasing the incidence of vaccine preventable diseases. The ISDH Immunization Division is committed to the prevention of disease, disability, and death among Hoosiers across the lifespan through a collaborative approach to improve vaccination coverage and access to vaccines.nn nnThe Immunization Division is organized into four teams consisting of 33 staff : Immunization Information System (IIS) Operations, Division Operations, Vaccine Access and Management, and Immunization Assessment and Promotion. The ISDH Immunization Division Regional Quality Assurance Specialist position is on the Quality Assurance team (QA) within the Vaccine Access and Management (VAM) section and performs associated duties offsite in a remote capacity. The VAM section is responsible for ensuring access to and accountability for vaccines through the assurance of proper implementation of the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. The QA team is comprised of the Quality Assurance Coordinator and five (5) Regional Quality Assurance Specialists, and one (1) Regional Quality Assurance Specialist-Working Lead located throughout the state of Indiana. This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Coordinator. nn nnThis position serves as the VFC program operations lead and primary immunization program liaison and representative for an assigned region ranging from 110 to 150 enrolled VFC healthcare provider offices within the state of Indiana. The incumbent will conduct and oversee a suite of onsite visits for the assigned region focused on program compliance assessment, education, and training. Additionally, this position will deliver a range of provider support services including annual recertification, temperature excursion response and reporting, consultation and technical assistance for VFC office relocation.nnnnEssential Duties / ResponsibilitiesnnnQuality Assurance Visits (50%)nn? Conducts biennial program compliance visits with enrolled VFC providers according to CDC and ISDH procedures, including providing extensive VFC program education and communicating findings and identifying steps / actions to resolve outstanding issues in a timely mannernn? Conducts unannounced storage and handling visits with select VFC providers and documents all actions / findings in CDC PEAR (Provider Education and Activity Reporting)nn? Oversees and supports the program enrollment process for new VFC providers, including conducting initial and follow-up program enrollment visitsnn nnProvider Support Services (35%)nnnCollaborates with the Vaccine Ordering and Accountability team and Immunization Information System (IIS) team to provide optimal customer service to providersnn? Facilitates and supports the annual recertification process among enrolled providersnn? Facilitates and supports new vaccine coordinator access to training materialsnn? Provides consultation and technical assistance for VFC office relocation, including vaccine transport, storage unit preparation and relocation, and temperature monitoring processesnn?
