Fiction Writer (Remote)

Role Description:

Mabaya Group is looking for a Fiction Writer to create engaging and imaginative content across various genres. The ideal candidate has a strong creative vision, a deep understanding of storytelling, and the ability to craft compelling narratives that captivate readers.

This is a remote contract role, but candidates must be based in Queens, New York, and eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities:

• Develop original fiction stories across various genres, including novels, short stories, or serialized content.
• Write compelling narratives with strong character development and engaging dialogue.
• Research to ensure accuracy and authenticity in world-building and storytelling.
• Meet deadlines while managing multiple writing projects.
• Revise and edit drafts based on feedback from editors and publishers.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in creative writing, fiction writing, or a related field.
• Strong storytelling skills with the ability to create engaging plots and characters.
• Excellent grammar, writing, and editing skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Candidates must be based in Queens, New York, and eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with self-publishing, traditional publishing, or content serialization platforms.
• Familiarity with different genres and writing styles.
• Strong research skills to enhance story authenticity.
• Knowledge of screenwriting, graphic novel scripting, or interactive storytelling is a plus.

Compensation & Job Type:

• Freelance, Contract (Paid) – Competitive per-project or per-word rates based on experience.
• Estimated Pay Range: $0.05 – $0.20 per word or $500 – $5,000 per project, depending on length and complexity.
• Remote – Candidates must be based in Queens, New York, United States, and eligible to work in the U.S.
