Job Summary:

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technicians to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various ophthalmic procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our practice.

Duties:

• Perform preliminary eye examinations, including taking patient history and documenting chief complaints
• Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and automated lensometry
• Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the ophthalmologist
• Assist with minor surgical procedures, including preparing the surgical area and sterilizing instruments
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Clean and maintain ophthalmic equipment and instruments
• Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and collecting payments
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their questions and concerns

Requirements:

• No previous education requirements.
• Previous experience working in a medical office or ophthalmology setting desirable
• Willingness to learn to use electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

No prior experience is needed, but a background in the medical industry is recommended. On the job training will be provided as needed.
