WAREHOUSE GENERAL MANAGER
JOB TYPE AND CLASSIFICATION: Full Time Salaried Exempt
JOB OVERVIEW:
MAC.BID buys truckloads of customer returns and overstock products then sells these items individually to the public through online auctions. The Warehouse General Manager will effectively manage all aspects of the warehouse, departments, and personnel for his/her location. This position reports to the District Manager.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as key member of the Management Team
- Manage day-to-day business operations to ensure Safety, Quality and Efficiency
- Directly supervise and direct the supervisory team (Team Leads and Managers)
- Supervise discipline, performance assessment, development, and reviews of supervisors and warehouse team members. Perform reviews for supervisory team
- Use independent judgment and collaborate with Recruitment/HR on warehouse staffing/hiring/disciplinary/firing decisions
- Report OSHA and WC incidents to HR/Safety
- Report personnel time off to HR
- Help set and be accountable to meeting and exceeding metrics and budget goals for the warehouse
- Train, supervise, and provide day-to-day guidance of warehouse team members
- Oversee Receiving process, which includes quality control and tracking of quantities ordered vs. quantities received
- Oversee the organization of the product and maintain the layout of the warehouse space
- Responsible for the safety and general care, cleaning, and maintenance of the warehouse and infrastructure, including the hallways, and receiving dock
- Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure smooth operations that balance the needs of MAC.BID, the warehouse team, our customers, and our suppliers
- Assess team and individual team member morale and work to ensure high morale
- Show continuous improvement in all areas
- Must be available to work onsite Sunday-Saturday during warehouse operating hours
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds alone, 50 pounds with a team lift
- Must be able to follow written directions and company policies
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug tests during employment
- Must be fork truck certified (or successfully pass in-house training/certification)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
