Position Summary:

 

The Global Vice President of Sales and Marketing is a key executive leadership role responsible for driving the company's worldwide sales and marketing strategy, managing global sales teams, and overseeing the performance of regional sales operations. This role requires an experienced and dynamic leader with a strong understanding of electrical connector markets, customer needs, and global business dynamics. The Global VP of Sales and Marketing will develop and execute strategies that will drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer satisfaction in line with the company’s objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Sales Strategy Development and Execution:

 

  • Lead the development and execution of the global sales strategy, aligned with the company’s overall business goals and market dynamics.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, emerging market trends, and potential strategic partnerships to drive revenue growth.
  • Set ambitious but achievable sales targets for all regions, closely monitor progress, and adjust strategies as needed.


Marketing Strategy and Execution:

  • Lead global marketing efforts, including branding, digital marketing, product marketing, and communications strategies.
  • Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to create go-to-market plans for new product launches and innovations. 
  • Drive demand generation, lead qualification, and conversion through strategic marketing campaigns, content creation, and market research. 
  • Oversee the creation of marketing materials, sales collateral, and technical documentation to support sales teams globally.


Team Leadership and Development:

 

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performance global sales team, providing clear direction and fostering a culture of collaboration and results-driven performance.
  • Implement training, coaching, and development programs to enhance sales team capabilities and ensure alignment with best practices and company goals.
  • Oversee the recruitment, on-boarding, and professional growth of regional sales leaders and teams to meet the company’s growth objectives.

 

Market and Customer Insights:

 

  • Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies and product development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and strategic partners across various regions to maximize business opportunities.
  • Leverage customer and market insights to position the company’s products as solutions to customer challenges, improving customer loyalty and retention.

 

Sales Operations and Reporting:

 

  • Monitor and report on global sales performance, including revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Utilize CRM tools and data analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs), sales pipeline, and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to provide regular updates on the sales forecast and adjust strategies based on performance data.

 

Global Sales Coordination and Integration:

 

  • Work closely with regional sales leaders to ensure alignment with global objectives while adapting strategies to local market conditions.
  • Develop standardized sales processes, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency across regions.
  • Coordinate with marketing, product management, engineering, and other departments to ensure product offerings meet customer needs and align with market trends.

 

Profitability and Budget Management:

 

  • Develop and manage the global sales budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to meet sales targets.
  • Optimize pricing strategies and sales programs to maximize profitability while maintaining competitive pricing and value propositions.
  • Ensure that sales activities remain cost-effective and within budget.

 

Global Travel and Networking:

 

  • Travel globally as required to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and manage regional teams.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to enhance brand visibility and build strong industry relationships.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field;
  • MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.

 

Experience:

 

  • 10 years of progressive experience in sales leadership, with a minimum of 5 years in a global sales executive role, preferably within the manufacturing or electrical components industry.
  • Proven track record of leading global sales teams and delivering significant revenue growth in complex, international markets.
  • Strong experience in B2B sales, managing key accounts, and establishing strategic partnerships.
  • Extensive knowledge of the electrical connector market, industry trends, and customer demands.

 

Leadership Skills:

 

  • Exceptional leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams across diverse regions.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving results.
  • Ability to drive change, innovate, and manage growth in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

 

Communication Skills:

 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage with executives, customers, and teams at all levels.
  • Multilingual abilities (preferred but not required).

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • Proficient in using CRM and sales analytics tools, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar platforms.
  • Comfortable working with technical teams to understand product offerings and their applications.

 

Additional Requirements:

 

  • Willingness to travel frequently (domestically and internationally) to meet with customers and regional teams.
  • Strong understanding of global sales processes, cultural nuances, and business practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a focus on long-term objectives.
