What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent position at MAC Panel Company?
Summary/objective
The Purchasing Agent will contribute to procurement and quoting efforts in support of the production and sales teams. Additional clerical duties will be required to maintain work efficiency and flow of information.
Essential functions (These are the job duties required for success in the job.)
· Procurement of materials, tools, and supplies necessary to meet daily production needs across all departments, as well as project-based sourcing when required.
· Interface with suppliers to gather data in support of quotation efforts and maintain accurate internal records and databases.[MG1]
· Maintain regular communication with suppliers regarding high-priority or long-lead-time purchase orders and provide timely updates to relevant departments.[MG2]
· Assist Shipping, Quality, Stockroom, and Accounts Payable in tracking material[MG3] s through the receipt process and acquiring any necessary documentation from the supplier.

Work environment
The employee will perform most duties associated with this job in an office environment. Some duties with be performed on the factory floor. The employee will be exposed to moving equipment such as fork trucks, hazardous chemicals such as solvents and cleaners, moderate noise levels and moderate changes in ambient temperature.

Education and experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· College degree in business or accounting related field a plus
· Some purchasing experience a plus
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite[MG4]
· Experience with ERP software or production planning a plus

Must be a US citizen or have the authority to work in the US
