The General Manager is responsible for ensuring the development and deployment of the commercial business strategy of their assigned branch location(s), focusing on growth, revenue and profitability projections. The General Manager leads a commercial team to deliver on growth strategies, achieve profitability and maintain a competitive edge in the market. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)
Essential Position Functions:
- Plan, develop, and implement strategies to generate new business opportunities and sustain profitable revenues.
- Drive growth and business development strategy to identify and penetrate emerging markets and increase market share.
- Evaluate external competitive environments and industry trends to develop targeted marketing and growth strategies.
- Oversee the development and execution of sales strategies and customer management efforts.
- Attract, retain, and develop top talent to ensure the company achieves its sales and growth targets.
- Provide mentorship, training, and corrective guidance to ensure accountability, and to enhance individual and team performance.
- Effectively collaborate with branch Operations leadership.
- Manage forecasting, and budgeting processes while reviewing performance data and metrics.
- Monitor and manage commercial performance to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, providing needed services while staying within budgetary limits.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and professional growth.
- Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing program improvement.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with employees at all levels across the organization.
- Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5 years’ sales experience and 3 years of distribution experience including operations and logistics.
- Proven experience in leading profitable organizations and driving growth.
- Administration and Management: Understanding of strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership techniques.
- Experience building strong organizational teams and contributing to bench strength.
- Success in developing and executing short/long term strategic business plans.
- Ability to handle stress related to demands of internal and external customers.
- Must have intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills.
- Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
