Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lighting and Scenic Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a creative professional with a strong technical background and hands-on experience in lighting (both setting up and running a show), with a secondary focus on setup of scenic pieces. This position requires a significant amount of travel for shows as well as shop work in down times.
Key Responsibilities
In-House:
- Prepare and maintain lighting and scenic elements for upcoming events.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing the scenic shop and lighting equipment.
- Collaborate with design and production teams on new builds and creative concepts.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of lighting gear and scenic assets.
- Provide support with scenic shop tasks, including carpentry, painting, and other fabrication work as needed.
On-Site:
- Lead the installation and setup of stage designs, ensuring all elements are safely and accurately placed according to the plan.
- Assist with the installation and management of lighting designs.
- Supervise and participate in the loading and unloading of equipment at venues.
- Work closely with event managers and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve on-site challenges.
- Support show calls and operate equipment as needed during events.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 2 years of experience in the live event or theatrical production industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in lighting systems and programming (Hog 4). Familiarity with safe rigging and electrical practices.
- Creative Skills: Ability to contribute to set design and scenic builds: knowledge of painting and basic aluminum welding is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various physical positions as required by the job.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
