General Position Summary :
Under the general supervision of the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), the Controller is responsible for all accounting and reporting functions of the organization, supervises all assigned accounting staff.
The Controller is responsible for analyzing accounting and financial data. Also, responsible to provide information and recommendations to the CFO regarding day-to-day operation of the Business and Finance office (BFO) as well as the organizations' past performance and future forecast. Will make recommendations to the CFO on staffing the BFO, coordinating services and improving business and infrastructure efficiencies throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field and Ten years of experience in finance or accounting with at least 5 of those years in a supervisory capacity over finance / accounting staff.Strong knowledge of GAAP.Experience in financial management, accounting functions, and financial statement analysis.Preferred Qualifications and Experience :
Five years of experience working in non-profit environment or related coursework.Experience with Financial Edge or other fund accounting software.Master's degree in Accounting, Business or related field and / or CPA designation.Supervisory Responsibility :
Responsible for supervising personnel assigned to the accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions.

Under the direction and general guidance of the Chief Finance Officer, provide leadership to the BFO team on strategic, systemic and tactical execution on all organization business and finance matters, including but not limited to :
Responsible for daily accounting functions for the organization, including the month end closing process and annual audit preparation.Assures accurate and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Supervise payroll and finance / accounting staff as assigned.Provide support and guidance to executive staff, program directors, and other department leads in the management and implementation of their budgets.Analyzing accounting and reporting business systems and recommending to the CFO reasonable and necessary systemic changes.Analyze financial statements and reports. Provide the CFO with meaningful reports and financial data to support the CFO to forecast future revenue, cash needs and monitor the financial health of the organizations.Stay current on processes and provide back-up to payroll processing as needed.Participate in special projects, assigned leadership and administrative meetings as assigned by the CFO.Participate in all staff development, training and meetings as required.Represent the Chief Finance Officer and the department at meetings as assigned.
