Organizers identify, recruit, and develop leaders to change the power dynamics at work. This position has responsibility for organizing through worker and community leadership development. Organizers build power by organizing non-union workers with a focus on one-on-one conversations, house visits and developing community support to win organizing campaigns.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
- Writing and implementing a campaign plan.
- Developing and implementing creative organizing strategies.
- Setting up communication systems for distribution of information.
- Preparing printed materials for use in organizing and community campaigns.
- Training workers to interface with the media.
- External organizing training, leadership training and development, political action training, special workshops, and coordination of campaign work by other staff and leaders
- Political action in the context of the organizing campaign.
- Work with other staff to prepare unfair labor practice charges and presentation of case.
- Issue organizing in context of external campaign development and motivation of organizing committees.
- Research and analysis of employers and industries.
- Managing small data bases, and training staff and leaders to maintain assessment system data base.
Qualifications :
Working Environment :
Office and field work involving travel to all areas of the state - sometimes with overnight stays - in a variety of environmental conditions. The workweek is Monday through Friday plus weekend work when specifically assigned. The workday may begin before and extend beyond normal office hours depending on the demands of the assignment.

Compensation range is based on experience $70,812 - $102,924 (
