Position Purpose : In the capacity of a Floating Substitute and Academic Program Coordinator, this position is responsible for managing, supervising, and placing substitutes for teachers (including the use of an outside staffing vendor) and will be the first sub contacted when a substitute is needed. This is a 1 FTE position.
Essential Functions :
Substitute Coordinator :
- Maintain a flexible mindset, able and willing to step in and fill any job deemed necessary and appropriate by administration with little to no advance notice including but not limited to teacher (any and all), after school care, and admin support roles
- Interview and hire substitute candidates
- Provide ongoing supervision of substitutes through regular performance reviews,
- counseling, and disciplinary actions
- Provide orientation to all substitute teachers
- Manage the ReadySub system for coordination and assignment of substitute teachers
- Approve substitute payroll hours monthly
- Ensure substitute teachers receive regular feedback on performance
- Inform relevant supervisors of substitute teacher assignments in their respective
- division
- Ensure emergency lesson plans are available for all courses
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or Head of School

Compensation :
Salary is highly competitive with top independent schools in the region and commensurate with education and experience and includes all professional responsibilities of a teacher, both in the classroom and community contributions. Salary range is $22.00-$24.50 and is based on skills and qualifications.
