The Puentes Team helps promote the well-being of the Latinx community through accessible, culturally competent services by providing an array of culturally specific and linguistically appropriate programs addressing behavioral health treatment for the underserved and the uninsured. The Mental Health Clinician works as a member of the Puentes treatment team to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health services to Latino adults. This position has access to mental health billing and service records.
Central City Concern Puentes program is hiring a Full-time Spanish Bilingual Mental Health Counselor!
Schedule : Monday-Friday 8 : 30am-5 : 30pm Days and times can vary, potential for hybrid work schedule 1-2 days a week!
Location : Puentes is located on the Eastside in South East Portland, Or.

Puentes provides culturally specific services to Latinos in recovery through alcohol and drug treatment and mental health care to individuals and the entire family in a way that mitigates stigma and fear. Puentes staff are bilingual and bicultural; they understand Latino values, family roles and community structures helping Latino / a / x clients gain insight into cultural influences on behavior.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Must meet qualifications for : QMHP-R or QMHP CSWA LPC-a or LPC LMFT-A or LMFT LCSW
- Must have a Master's Degree.
- Must have experience working with the Latino culture.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Current CPR certification required prior to start.
- One year of mental health experience preferred.
- CADC-R, at minimum, preferred.
- Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.
- Has the competencies necessary to : Identify precipitating events; Gather histories of mental, emotional and physical disabilities, alcohol and drug use, past mental health services and criminal justice contacts; Assess family, social and work relationships Conduct a mental status assessment Document a DSM diagnosis Write and implement or supervise implementation of a treatment plan Conduct and document a mental health assessment Provide mental health treatment and rehabilitative services within ones scope of practice
- Ability to adhere to Central City Concern’s drug-free workplace which encourages a safe, healthy and productive work environment and strictly complies with the Drug-Free Work Place Act of 1988. An employee shall not, in the workplace, unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use a controlled substance or alcohol.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
- If using a vehicle for agency use, must possess a current driver’s license, pass DMV background check and be designated an “acceptable” driver as outlined in Central City Concern’s Fleet Safety Policy. Must pass initial Annual Driver’s training and then pass annual Recertification training. Must maintain vehicle insurance coverage of a minimum of $100,000 / $300,000 personal auto liability coverage.
