Assistant General Manager Job Description
Operational Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations: Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including opening/closing procedures and managing shift transitions.
- Staff Supervision: Oversee staff during shifts, ensuring they perform their duties effectively and adhere to company standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and ensure supplies are adequately stocked.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling protocols, and labor laws.
Customer Service Responsibilities:
- Customer Satisfaction: Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Quality Control: Ensure food quality, presentation, and service meet company standards
- Conflict Resolution: Handle disputes or issues among customers or staff.
Team Leadership:
- Training and Development: Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching to staff to improve performance and foster growth.
- Motivation: Foster a positive work environment by motivating and supporting team members.
- Performance Management: Monitor employee performance and provide feedback, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
Financial Responsibilities:
- Sales and Revenue: Support efforts to achieve sales goals and optimize profitability.
- Cash Handling: Oversee cash handling procedures, including daily reconciliations, deposits, and petty cash management.
Collaboration with General Manager:
- Strategy Execution: Help implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Other Responsibilities:

General Manager Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3 years of experience in a restaurant with at least 1 year in a management role
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to stand for extended periods and withstand stressful situations
