Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing the IN and MI Rental Services fleet telematics solutions to ensure the information provided to operations and customers is accurate and timely. This includes managing the hardware installation as well as the software solution.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage the installation and registration of the Rental Services fleet telematics solution
- Able to operate machinery at times during installation, testing, and/or troubleshooting
- Work with the vendor(s), service departments and technical operations team to determine ideal location for installing hardware per model
- Coordinate the creation of installation instructions by model to facilitate efficient and consistent installation across all product lines
- Work with service departments and vendors to ensure accuracy and timeliness of telematics installations
- Maintain accurate and updated reporting on telematics installation progress with rental service departments and management
- Support service department personnel, as necessary, with telematics installations, operation, and troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve problems, gather and analyze information and suggest alternative solutions if required
- Manage subscriptions with telematics vendors, adding new units, removing sold units, cancelling subscriptions and linking new API’d units
- Order hardware devices, install kits and manage appropriate inventory levels of each to facilitate efficient installation
- Manage the telematics user interface including user profiles, reports and data accuracy
- No formal responsibility for supervising others.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma
- 5 years’ experience with heavy equipment and/or telematics
- Associates or equivalent degree from a vocational school
- In depth understanding of the equipment rental industry, product lines and customers

- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, listening, and non-verbal skills
- Strong computer skills and an ability to utilize OEM programs such as ET, VisionLink, Dealer Service Portal, Equipment Data, Outlook, Excel, Rental Man, and IntempoMX
- Excellent customer service, problem solving, and organization skills
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to manage projects; handling change, conflict and addressing road blocks that may occur
