Position Summary

This position provides the service of delivering equipment in a safe, timely, efficient, and courteous manner.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Delivery and pickup of equipment for rental customers
  • Drives company vehicle in safe and prudent manner at all times and complies with all DOT requirements
  • Operates equipment to load and unload cargo or materials in a safe manner
  • Ensures accuracy and completion of all rental contracts and delivery documentation
  • Maintain service vehicles and shop equipment to present a clean and professional appearance and serviced every 90 days or before if necessary
  • Ensures proper storage of vehicle when not in use to prevent property damage.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No formal responsibility for supervising others

Position Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months or more hauling experience
  • Valid Class A CDL drivers license with air brake endorsement

Preferred

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years or more of hauling experience
  • Familiarity with delivery
  • Knowledge of rental equipment

  • Excellent communication skills-verbal and written-with individuals at all levels of the company
  • Ability to utilize and comprehend geographical maps of cities
  • Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline driven environment
  • Professional demeanor with both internal and external contacts including personal appearance and friendly, courteous treatment of peers, subordinates, and people at all levels inside and outside the organization
  • Ability to keep both business and personal information confidential

Physical Requirements of Position

  • Frequent travel (75% - 100%) during the day
  • Frequent confined sitting (at computer, in car, etc.)
  • Frequent non-confined sitting (able to move about at will.)
  • Frequent standing or walking
  • Frequent rapid use of arms, hands or fingers, in handling or manipulating objects, or operating equipment, tools and/or instruments requiring fine eye-hand coordination
  • Frequent repeated bending, crouching, stretching, or crawling
  • Frequent unaided lifting of objects up to 20 pounds. Occasional unaided lifting of objects up to 100
  • Frequent climbing on ladders, equipment, and etc.
  • Frequent communication with individuals. Must be able to able to exchange accurate information when speaking with customers, coworkers, and vendors.

  • Frequent use of near and far vision acuity. Must be able to identify and distinguish colors and able to use peripheral vison while operating vehicle.

Other Requirements Of Position

Works under general supervision. Employee acts independently to handle standard problems but usually report on such problems. More unusual problems are referred to a supervisor/manager.

Major responsibilities typically require a modest amount of creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates under general instructions with some established procedures and policies.

If an error is made while in this position, they will be easy to find and require little effort or expense to fix.

Frequently communicates with coworkers and management.

Maintain equipment and supplies to avoid waste, damage to areas and equipment, and to prevent accidents.
