Key Responsibilities
Event Setup & Breakdown
- Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including tables, chairs, linens, and décor.
- Arrange table settings, glassware, silverware, and centerpieces per hotel standards.
- Assist in placing buffet stations, bars, and beverage stations as required.
- Break down and clean banquet spaces after events, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly stored.
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive and professional service throughout the event.
- Serve plated meals, buffet items, and beverages according to service standards.
- Refill water, coffee, and beverages promptly while maintaining a clean table setting.
- Assist with wine and cocktail service as required, following alcohol service guidelines.
- Ensure all food and drinks are served at the correct temperature and presentation.
- Address guest inquiries, special requests, and dietary restrictions with professionalism.
- Monitor tables and anticipate guests' needs, providing timely and courteous service.
- Handle any guest concerns or issues efficiently, escalating to management when necessary.
- Work closely with the banquet manager, captains, kitchen staff, and other servers to ensure smooth service.
- Assist bartenders and banquet managers with beverage preparation and service.
- Communicate effectively with the team regarding food courses, serving times, and event flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including banquet tables, service stations, and event areas.
- Clear tables and properly dispose of used dishes, glassware, and utensils throughout the event.
- Adhere to health and sanitation regulations, ensuring all food-handling procedures meet safety standards.
- Follow all hotel, company, and banquet policies, including service standards, attendance, meal and rest breaks, polished grooming and dress standards, and code of conduct.
- Uphold professionalism by engaging with guests respectfully, demonstrating integrity, and delivering exceptional service.
- Uphold MacArthur Place’s luxury service and hospitality brand standards by demonstrating integrity, respect, and teamwork.
- Previous banquet or restaurant serving experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper handling of allergens.
- Upon hire, obtain and maintain Food Handler’s and Alcohol Service certifications as required by local laws.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull and carry trays, plated food and banquet equipment (up to 40 lbs) for extended periods.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Working in a high-energy, fast-paced banquet or catering setting.
- Ability to work in indoors and outdoors environments, including exposure to sun and varying weather conditions and temperatures.
