Barista (1 part-time AM)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a friendly and skilled Hotel Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for crafting high-quality coffee, tea, and light food items, providing exceptional guest service, and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. In this role, you will be responsible for beverage preparation, retail sales, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. You’ll play an important role in enhancing the guest experience by delivering consistent, efficient, and professional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Service: Greet and engage guests in a friendly and professional manner. Take orders and provide recommendations based on guest preferences. Handle guest inquiries and requests with professionalism and efficiency, engaging respectfully and demonstrating integrity while providing exceptional service that aligns with the hotel's luxury brand standards.
• Beverage & Food Preparation: Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and espresso-based drinks. Operate coffee machines and equipment to ensure consistent quality. Assist in serving food items such as pastries and sandwiches.
• Cash Handling & Sales: Accurately process transactions and handle cash. Promote café menu items, hotel services, and retail items like hotel-branded merchandise and packaged coffee.
• Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following food safety guidelines. Replenish inventory and ensure retail displays are stocked and visually appealing.
• Professionalism: Uphold company policies, including food & beverage, health, safety and sanitation regulations, as well as attendance, meal & rest breaks, code of conduct, and polished grooming and appearance standards. Provide exceptional service while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Qualifications:

• Previous barista experience preferred.
• Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso machines, and milk texturing.
• Basic knowledge of food, health, safety and sanitation.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, lift, push, pull up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must obtain and maintain Food Handler’s certifications upon hire.

Work Environment
The Barista works in a fast-paced café or lobby setting within the hotel, interacting with guests and team members in a high-energy environment. The role requires adherence to hygiene and safety standards while delivering consistent, high-quality beverages and service. Exposure to noise from coffee machines, a busy lobby, and hotel activities is common during peak hours.
