Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior EHS Specialist to perform administrative and technical work as it relates to supporting Environmental, Health & Safety our facility located in Altoona, PA. Our Senior EHS Specialist will be responsible for advising and assisting managers, supervisors and employees in compliance with EHS programs.

What will you be doing?

• Support the EHS Manager in setting and tracking EHS KPIs to meet company goals. Monitor changes in laws and regulations, assess their impact, and inform management. Help develop and oversee EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards, including SDS management.
• Assist in implementing EHS plans, advising on health and safety issues, performing risk and ergonomic assessments, and ensuring proper execution of EHS policies through audits. Initiate corrective and preventive actions, track EHS performance, and report findings.
• Conduct EHS audits, investigate incidents/near misses, and monitor improvements. Assist in EHS training, committee participation, and cover the EHS Manager in their absence. Perform EHS inspections and help with environmental reporting (NPDES, Air Permits, etc.). Oversee PPE, coordinate medical exams, and maintain safety and training databases.
• Support administrative and technical duties as needed.

Who are You?

• Posses a minimum of a two year degree, preferably in a related field; or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. BS degree desirable.

• Previous EHS experience within manufacturing.
• Outstanding organizational abilities are needed.
• Work effectively across all functions in the Company
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, as well as demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels.
• Positive attitude, self-starter and proven ability to work in a team environment.
• Accomplished Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.
• Must be able to maintain a level of confidentiality related to sensitive business issues.
