Who are we looking for?
The role of a Master Production Scheduler is critical in orchestrating the complex interplay between production processes, capacity constraints, and material availability to ensure efficient operations and meet customer demands effectively. By leveraging planning tools, continuous improvement methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration, the Master Production Scheduler plays a pivotal role in optimizing production workflows, reducing costs, and enhancing overall business performance.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and implement comprehensive production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing production costs.
- Utilize MRP planning systems to generate accurate material requirements plans based on demand forecasts, lead times, capacity constraints, and inventory targets.
- Work closely with production managers and engineers to optimize resource allocation, manpower utilization, and machine efficiency.
- Develop contingency plans and alternative scenarios to address capacity constraints and ensure uninterrupted production flow.
- Analyze production data, performance metrics, and feedback from stakeholders to drive ongoing improvements in production processes and workflows.
- Monitor material availability, inventory levels, and supplier performance to mitigate risks and minimize production disruptions due to material shortages or delays.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and logistics to ensure alignment of production plans with overall business objectives.
- Participate and lead in regular meetings, reviews, and discussions to provide updates on production status, address issues, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other STEM discipline, and/or equivalent working experience.
- 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or related roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing production schedules, capacity planning, and material requirement planning. Experience with planning tools, ERP systems, and MRP software.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, as well as demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels
- Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail: ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced, and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines and projects by using appropriate methodology and tools.
- Accomplished Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills. Experience with ERP system, knowledge of JDE is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
