The successful candidate will effectively develop and implement procedures, systems, programs and studies for the purpose of making continuous improvements to the MacDermid Alpha supply base, the quality of purchased goods and services, and the costs associated with performing verification of the Quality of purchased goods and services. Who are we looking for?
The Supply Quality Engineer is responsible and accountable for the Semi-Conductor supplier quality program. The successful candidate will effectively develop and implement procedures, systems, programs and studies for the purpose of making continuous improvements to the MacDermid Alpha supply base, the quality of purchased goods and services, and the costs associated with performing verification of the Quality of purchased goods and services. Preferred candidates will be engaged, hungry to implement change and understand the broader responsibility that the Quality function has within the business.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and implement written procedures to ensure expectations to suppliers are clear, communicated internally and externally.
- Possess familiarity with ISO9001/IATF 16949 quality management standards.
- Manage Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and oversee supplier performance improvement projects.
- Responsible for daily SPC reviews of IQC, evaluating raw material shelf life and making extension decisions, as well as addressing daily quality issues and implementing corrective actions related to IQC.
- Manage the Supplier Corrective Action process by driving root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues.
- Conduct supplier assessments/audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement. Maintain records of all supplier assessments/audits utilizing the Supplier Assessment schedule. Manage supplier interaction to close observations and findings in a timely manner.
- Drive the supplier change management process efficiently and effectively in a timely manner to prevent potential production or customer issues.
- Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
- Responsible for overseeing supplier qualifications within the business unit, including raw materials, packaging, and subcontractor qualifications.
- Accountable for managing supplier scorecards, maintaining up-to-date supplier documentation, and updating the Raw Material Risk Assessment (RMRA) files.
- 3-5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering/Assurance
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Chemistry, Engineering, etc)
- Semiconductor industry experience a plus.
- Good team player with hands on ability and attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems
- Ability to quickly develop realistic, effective, methodical, and comprehensive action plans, and executes tasks to completion.
- Able to thrive on ambiguity and take ownership of his/her work
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, JD Edwards ERP, Minitab SPC are preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25% may be required
