Macdonald & Company is proud to be partnered with a lean and rapidly growing residential real estate finance and asset management company to appoint an Investment Manager to their Operations & Asset Management team in Charlotte. Our client is backed by relationships with several large (multi-billion-dollar) private equity groups.
The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to be an integral part of a growing team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment with external-facing client relationships and direct reporting lines to top-senior leadership.
This individual will be involved in several facets of the operations & asset management and reporting and investment performance/analysis deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Lead deal operations and asset management efforts for select clients and partnerships.
Underwriting
- Due diligence o Modeling / pro forma business planning
- Document review including key loan documents & financial statements
- Term sheet drafting & negotiations o Project specific and general market analysis
- Managing loan closing process & loan document review
- Preparation of credit approval memorandums and supporting materials
Asset Management & Operations
- Asset management oversight w/ clients (external)
- Asset management reporting to senior leadership (internal)
- Ongoing modeling and expense/revenue projections, variance reporting & sensitivity analysis
- Draw review & other ad hoc analysis
- Input and management of proprietary software systems for deal management
Qualifications & Experience:
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in real estate; finance, investment, asset management, or development
- Bachelor’s degree required in real estate, business, finance, or related field
- Expertly skilled with Microsoft Excel and the wider suite of applications
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for relationship management with clients, service providers, and investors
- Incredibly strong critical thinker: adept at creating novel/new models and analysis, synthesizing new ideas and concepts in an articulate and actionable format for senior leadership
- Results-Oriented: track record of delivering quantifiable results to the organization (i.e. analyzing opportunities/risks, developing and executing related action plans, and delivering results)
- Operational Excellence: a proven ability to identify, collect and analyze operations performance data, market research data, and other related data to improve performance
- Self-Motivated: adaptable to a high-paced and dynamic work environment and adept at prioritizing and reprioritizing quickly changing tasks while maintaining attention to detail
