Position: Dimensional Specialist
Position Summary: The Dimensional Specialist will drive dimensional lumber sales and manufacturing operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role bridges sales, production, and logistics, optimizing processes from raw materials to finished products while expanding market opportunities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies for sales growth and operational efficiency.
- Consult with the Sales Team on constructability, quality, scheduling, and cost containment.
- Oversee projects from raw wood processing to finished product, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timeline.
- Review and approve sales orders and invoices for accuracy.
- Collaborate with sales, logistics, purchasing, and credit teams for smooth order fulfillment.
- Expand the dimensional lumber customer base and identify new market opportunities.
- Maintain profit margins while delivering prompt, accurate pricing.
- Conduct quality control reviews and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage customer/vendor claims and credits effectively.
- Maintain daily logs, reports, and operational documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Language Standards:
- Must speak, understand, and write fluently in English
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in dimensional lumber, hardwood manufacturing, or a related industry.
- 2 years of sales experience in manufacturing or lumber industries.
- Familiarity with planers, gluers, moulders, and lumber finish lines (or willingness to learn).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license for potential travel.
