Position: Lumber Handler
Position summary: The Lumber Handler position will focus on stacking lumber in a safe and efficient manner. This person must have a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
1st and 2nd shift opportunities available!
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely handle, sort, and stack lumber by dimension, species, and grade
- Ensure lumber is placed accurately and neatly into the appropriate cart
- Prepare lumber for shipment
- Continuously maintain a safe work area clear from debris, clutter, and dust
- Operate the planer and other production equipment
- Wear required personal protective equipment at all times
- Maintain an excellent attendance record
- Must be safety conscious, have a positive attitude, and work well in a team environment
- Willingness to cross train and take on new tasks
- Adhere to company policies and SOPs
- Other duties as assigned
Language Standards:
- Must understand spoken English
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts while standing
- Ability to lift at least 60 lbs
- Ability to perform in a fast, labor-intensive environment with exposure to dust particles and loud machinery
- Capability of performing repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping
