Position: Maintenance Technician
Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment, the building and grounds, performing maintenance checks, and other tasks.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform minor and major repairs of buildings and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, grease bearings, seals, repairs or replaces broken parts etc.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Obtain estimates for supplies & repair parts; orders parts as needed
- Continuously maintain a safe work area clear from debris, clutter, and dust
- Willingness to cross train and take on new tasks
- Maintain an excellent attendance record
- Must be safety conscious, have a positive attitude, and work well in a team environment
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to perform in a fast, labor-intensive environment with exposure to dust particles and loud machinery
- Capability of performing repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping
- Willingness to obtain MacDonald & Owen forklift certification
- A general understanding of the mechanics of a lift truck to identify troubles with the equipment
- A valid driver’s license
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
