Job Summary
The General Manager is the leader of the individual branch location, responsible for directing and coordinating store activities to ensure safe, professional, and profitable operations.
Responsibilities
- Acquire and Maintain Customers
- Compliance with federal, state, and local statutes
- Implement sales and marketing programs
- Decipher, prepare, and review financial statements and store reports
- Ensure merchandise availability at all times
- Fill out paperwork for corporate submission
- Follow monthly marketing plans
- Maintain company vehicles within safe operating standards
- Manage inventory and cash assets
- Meet company standards for quality, customer service, and safety
- Meet and exceed target sales and revenue goals
- Implement marketing and growth plans
- Prepare daily work schedules and assign tasks
- Evaluate employee performance, discipline, and terminate when necessary
- Provide a safe, clean environment for customers and associates
- Recruit, hire, and train staff to ensure efficient operations
- Set goals and conduct weekly staff meetings
Requirements
Any combination of education and experience providing necessary skills and knowledge is acceptable. Typical qualifications include:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree with coursework in business, accounting, marketing, or management
- Two years' experience in retail or other business emphasizing customer service, account management, or merchandising
Physical Requirements
- Routine lifting, loading, and moving merchandise (50-300 pounds) using a dolly
- Safety precautions while traversing multiple flights of stairs
- Prolonged periods of driving and standing
- Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor climates and weather conditions
