MacElree Harvey, Ltd., a well-respected mid-sized law firm, is seeking an experienced legal assistant to assist our attorneys. A successful candidate should have previous legal assistant experience, be able to work both independently and cooperatively with the team. This position would be working in our West Chester office.
Responsibilities
- Creates, types, edits, and compiles documents and correspondence, including email and faxes.
- Receives and transcribes legal dictation from draft or dictated text. Prepares and processes legal documents with courts and other agencies.
- Manages and maintains calendar for attorneys including clients meetings, court dates and times and other appointments. Arranges for conference rooms as needed.
- Answers phones and provides information in response to telephone calls.
- May enter attorney time, reviews billing, conducts conflict checks and maintains client files and preparation of new matter memos.
Qualifications
- High school diploma with minimum of 4 - 6 years administrative experience preferably within a law firm.
- Keyboarding skills of 70 wpm or higher required.
- Computer proficient with working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel required.
- Ability to work with documents and produce documents from transcription with accuracy.
