Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled EMI/EMC (Electromagnetic Interference / Electromagnetic Compatibility) Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all electronic and electromechanical systems meet electromagnetic compliance standards and function reliably in high-demand environments.

You will work cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to support the design, integration, and validation of cutting-edge defense and energy platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop EMI/EMC requirements, design guidelines, and validation plans for new and existing products.
  • Perform electromagnetic compatibility analysis and simulations to predict system behavior in noisy environments.
  • Conduct hands-on EMI/EMC testing (radiated/conducted emissions and immunity) in accordance with relevant military, commercial, and internal standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, DO-160, FCC, CE).
  • Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to design shielding, filtering, grounding, and layout strategies to mitigate EMI issues.

  • Troubleshoot EMI-related failures and provide corrective actions for product improvements.
  • Generate technical reports, test plans, procedures, and documentation to support design reviews and compliance audits.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in EMC/EMI engineering.

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in EMI/EMC engineering (preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-performance systems).
  • Strong understanding of EMI/EMC principles, design practices, and mitigation techniques.
  • Experience with EMI test equipment (spectrum analyzers, LISNs, TEM cells, antennas, etc.).
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as MIL-STD-461, IEC 61000 series, and FCC/CE requirements.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, or similar) for EMI/EMC modeling.

Preferred

  • Experience working in military or defense-related projects.
  • Knowledge of PCB layout best practices for EMC.
  • Ability to interpret system schematics and harness diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting EMI/EMC issues during design and validation phases.
