As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate or Senior Associate Attorney to join our team. This position offers a remote work environment, with in-person attendance required only as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research and apply findings to case strategies.
- Draft precise and well-reasoned legal documents, including motions, briefs, and correspondence, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage discovery, propounding and responding to requests, and organizing materials effectively.
- Assist in litigation, including case preparation, drafting pleadings, and attending hearings, mediations, and client meetings.
- Prepare and organize case files for trial, including witness preparation and expert witness research.
- Ensure compliance with procedural rules and deadlines.
- Independently advise clients and represent them at board meetings, mediations, hearings, and other proceedings, as needed.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners and contribute to case strategy development.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- 1 years of experience in Education Law, preferred but not required
- 1-3 years of litigation experience
- Strong academic credentials
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Experience working directly with clients
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of education law preferred, including but not limited to special education and Section 504, student discipline/HIB, public school contracts, labor negotiations, board operations, personnel matters, tenure and seniority, civil rights, employment discrimination, and / or school construction
