We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and dependable Service Technician at our Corporate Headquarters in Fenton, MO. This person will specialize in custom solutions for critical and complex applications, service, repair, and install of standby generators and associated accessories ranging from 10KW up to 2MW.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot equipment failures both in-house and on customer locations and handle repairs of equipment as directed by his or her supervisor
- Efficient equipment maintenance according to industry and company standards, which includes documentation and preventative maintenance
- Complete any required documentation, including work-orders, timesheets, warranty claims, etc.
- Keep job site/work area neat, clean, and organized
- Observe and comply with all company policies and safety standards and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment
- Complete any other assigned tasks to contribute to effective operation of the service department
- Ensure work is being conducted safely for the employees, the customers, the public and our environment
- Be available on an “on-call” basis
- Some travel and overnight stay may be required (up to 100 miles)
- Proficient in diesel and natural gas generator service and repair, needed to work on both mechanical and electrical side of generator systems preferred
- 2 years’ experience preferred providing maintenance and repairs of generator sets, engines, controls, and switchgears.
- Working knowledge of transfer switch operation and repair is a plus
- Experience with industrial air compressor repairs also considered
- Determine both nominal and effective KW requirements.
- Understanding of home electrical panels, voltage, amps.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of and capability in reading and understanding schematics.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of, actively practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment.
- Prepare various reports as directed to maintain accurate records on equipment and preventive maintenance.
- Work well as part of a team.
