Job Description:
Responsible for managing the procurement and outsourcing of materials, parts, and services to support the organization's business segments. Leverages strong negotiation skills and supplier relationships to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
Position Responsibilities
Execute purchase orders using the ERP purchasing modules and production planning parameters to ensure timely availability of parts and subcontract services. Supports R&D projects, production pilots and custom orders by locating materials and services needed to develop and release products. Maintains effective and professional relationships with suppliers, developing and improving performance in quality, delivery, and price. Attends engineering tooling BOM releases and provides purchasing support as well as follow up on delivery expectations. Active participation on supplier scorecard reviews and communication with the suppliers. Participates/leads in the development of required SOP’s and maintains them to current process. Ensures that supplier NDA and surveys are current. Participates in supplier audits, as required, to ensure product quality meets standards. Performs price studies and vendor comparisons. Reports status updates to Planning and Procurement Leader. Responsible for participating in the sign off process for Material Change Requests (MCR’s). Participates in onsite Material Review Board (MRB) meetings. Other duties as assigned.
LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
Has authority to approve purchases of parts, equipment, or services within limits defined by company policy, and purchasing guidelines. Has the authority to execute purchases properly approved by others.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRMENTS
Must be proficient with the use of business management software (ERP) and related purchasing tools such as MRP or be able to become so within 6 months of hiring into the position. Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point). Critical thinking and negotiation skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner. Must be able to effectively interact with others inside and outside Vante.
Language Skills
Ability to efficiently and accurately present information and respond to questions from suppliers. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general technical procedures. Ability to write reports and department standard operating procedures.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply basic math and accounting concepts and calculate figures such as percentages and proportions.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Job Description:

- Monitor supplier performance and escalate any quality or delivery issues to drive corrective actions.
- Arrange logistics and track orders to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures for purchasing processes.
- Support R&D, production pilots, and custom orders by procuring specialized materials and services.
- Contribute to supplier scorecard reviews and audits to evaluate and improve supplier performance.
- Conduct price studies and vendor comparisons to identify cost-savings opportunities.
- Participate in the Material Change Request (MCR) and Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
