We are currently looking for a Weekend Night Shift CMM Operator to join our team. Night Shift hours are Friday – Sunday, 6PM – 6AM, work 36 hours get paid for 40 hours. This position comes with a 20% shift premium.
The CMM Operator is responsible for operating the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to inspect and measure parts to ensure they meet specified standards and tolerances. The CMM Operator will work closely with the quality team to maintain high-quality standards to best meet our customer’s requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the CMM to measure and inspect parts and products according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Perform detailed inspections and measurements, ensuring parts comply with specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Analyze measurement data, generate inspection reports, and document findings.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of the CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues with the CMM or measurement results, adjusting as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurements, and calibration activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the inspection process.
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree or certification in metrology, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as a CMM Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CMM operation.
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), blueprint reading, and inspection techniques.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precise measurements and inspections.
- Ability to analyze measurement data and generate accurate reports.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a vision test, eyeglasses or contacts are acceptable.
