SHIPPING AND RECEIVING CLERK (CNC MACHINE SHOP)

Machine Time, Inc is a custom CNC machining business founded in 2016 by Master Machinist and Artisan, Craig Jackson. Craig started working in the family machine shop when he was 12 years old and has developed his skills as a machinist, a fabricator, and an engineer for over 4 decades. A lifelong entrepreneur, Craig’s first major success was in 2008 when he built a company called Easy Wood Tools. Within a few years the Easy Wood Tools brand grew exponentially, showcasing Craig’s ability to invent novel technology and teach just about anyone the techniques of wood-turning.

Craig founded Machine Time in 2016 to be the machining company he could never find. Specializing in producing high-quality, tight-tolerance custom parts, Machine Time has developed a reputation for being able to deliver exceptionally challenging parts at specification, the first time. The Role

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is a member of the production team and will report directly to the Manufacturing Coordinator at Machine Time, Inc located in Nicholasville, KY. The role will have the primary responsibility of supporting all aspects of the manufacturing operations including inspection, packing, and shipping of finished products, receiving of raw material, post-processing, with support in cutting raw material. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk, along with fellow team members, will be a part of implementing company-wide initiatives of standardization and growth. This position serves to support the Mission and Vision of Machine Time, Inc.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly driven and organized individual with a continuous improvement mindset and a keen attention to detail. They will be results-focused, good time management and ability to prioritize will be crucial to the success of this position. The ability to work a 10-hour shift between the hours of 7am – 5pm will be essential.

The primary responsibilities for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk are listed below.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Operations
• Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies
• Assist with managing raw material for production floor (cutting material for machinist)
• Prepare all the required paperwork for shipping parts to secondary processing and customers
• Responsible for accurately updating ERP after receiving parts to inventory or removing from stock
• Prepare manufactured parts for shipping (Post processing: Red Pad, Washing, Sanding, Deburr or parts)
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials
• Operate forklift (OSHA forklift training required and can be provided)
• Responsible for completing job responsibilities in a safe manner while following all safety rules/guidelines
• Maintain a clean and neat work environment
• Assist with general shop support operations, as required
• Promote a mindset of Safe Excellence by taking action in addressing quality and people safety concerns as necessary
• Ensure compliance to all safety protocols, quality certifications, regulatory controls (OSHA/ITAR/AS9100), taking corrective action when necessary
• Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Proficient with Office 365 products
• Work experience with shop math proficiency, computer literacy, and strong mechanical aptitude is appreciated; basic math skills required.
• Familiarity with OSHA rules and regulations
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and emotional intelligence capabilities
• Strong organizational, time-management, and computer/technical skills
• Knowledge of business functions (Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, etc.)
• Systems thinker with an ability to streamline processes for increased productivity
• Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to drive business results
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with ITAR and/or AS9100
• LEAN/TPM manufacturing experience
• Experience working with startups or scale up of small businesses

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
