The Machinists Institute is a nonprofit apprenticeship and training organization that provides world class training to current and future aerospace, automotive and manufacturing workers. We are focused on providing living-wage career opportunities through education and training across the state. The Director of Regional Operations will lead, promote, and implement effective workforce development initiatives with a focus on equity and inclusion across the industries we serve.
We are driven to succeed in providing exceptional industrial and manufacturing training programs and need a Leader who will forge and maintain strong partnerships to advance workforce needs in the region.
The Regional Director will :
- Provide leadership and guidance to students, instructors, and industry partners to ensure training and apprenticeship program initiatives are achieved.
- Actively seek out and develop partnerships with local employers, community and technical colleges as well as workforce stakeholders including WDC, GSI, K12, etc.
- Oversee facility development to include industry relevant equipment requisition, continual improvement and proper maintenance schedules.
- Manage relationships with instructors; monitoring teaching performance, providing professional development opportunities, and ensuring all areas of programs have subject matter experts to teach.
- Lead efforts in outreach to students for all training programs; attending career fairs, speaking at local area high schools, follow up on interest in programs.
- Provide orientation and ongoing technical support to assist with any other issues that arise that affect success in their program.
- Focus on equity and inclusion across all aspects of their role.

Salary and Benefits
The starting salary for the position will be negotiated upon potential hire and will be commensurate on the experience level of the candidate. We also provide generous health and welfare benefits, 401K with employer contributions and matching, HSA, both vacation and sick time.
