Accounts Payable Specialist

The A/P Specialist has responsibility for general accounting and accounts payable.  Ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and experience processing, verifying and reconciling large volumes of invoices.  Will work collaboratively with other members of the accounting team to perform audits of all transactions and interface with venders on a daily basis.  This position is 100% onsite.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Process high volume of invoices for payment.
• Perform company check runs.
• Handle accounts receivable functions as required.
• Maintain company petty cash funds as required.
• Maintain and operate company mail machine.
• Perform vendor reconciliations.
• Verify and process expense reports.
• Request refund checks, where applicable, from suppliers.
• Maintain lost discount log.
• Perform internal financial audits as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous clerical activities, i.e. check stuffing and filing.
• Understand and follow all applicable ISO and job specific procedures.
• Participate in quality and management/company meetings as required.
• Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 5 years' relevant work experience. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills/ applications knowledge (i.e. Email, Excel, MS Word etc.) and ERP systems.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced, high-tech environment. 
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to interface with customers and suppliers.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
• US Person as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15 (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty) since work includes ITAR controlled technical data.
