Custodian / Janitor

Description:

Mackin Educational Resources has an immediate opening for a part-time Janitor/Facilities worker. Our employees enjoy working in the comfort of a climate-controlled work environment. The right candidate for this position must have a thorough understanding of janitorial processes and have the ability to work with minimal supervision while being safety conscious.

Responsibilities:

• Daily cleaning, including but not limited to dry mopping and wet cleaning of designated areas, large container trash removal, and sanitation of common areas
• Ensure quality & safety standards are met, reporting unsafe conditions as discovered
• Exterior grounds cleanup and debris removal
• Assist with general maintenance projects as assigned
• Perform other general cleaning duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Ability to handle daily or regularly scheduled building up keep
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions
• Ability to lift 30-50 pounds regularly throughout shift
• Must be able to prioritize work
• Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
• Basic understanding of building mechanical/electrical functions preferred

Education & Experience:

• Highschool Diploma or GED
• 1 years of janitorial experience
• Previous commercial maintenance experience a plus

Schedule:

• Part-time, onsite, 4-5 days per week
• 4-5 hours per day, scheduled between 7am and 3:30pm, Monday-Friday (specific hours to be determined upon hire)

Wages:

• $17.75 per hour
