What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Engineer position at Mackinnon & Partners?
Essential duties, experience and skills :
- Manage records regarding all system software changes and communicate any changes to affected employees.
- Perform analysis, detailed design (including documentation), capital request preparation, installation, start-up / checkout / debugging, and cost control of assigned projects.
- Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and equipment modification.
- Participate in process improvement efforts in support of plant goals.
- Monitor plant systems, analyze performance, and initiate action for optimization to achieve plant goals for safety, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
- Maintain all logic and PLC programs, install switches, and perform maintenance on the network as needed.
- Manage records regarding all system software changes and communicate any changes to affected employees.
- Manage contractors and maintenance staff during project installations.
- Create electrical training programs for electrical, instrument, and mechanical teams to stay abreast of federal, state and local regulations.
- Partner with Plant Mgmt to develop the five-year capital planning and the annual electrical operating budget.
- Maintain all logic and PLC programs, install switches, perform maintenance on network as needed
