The Maintenance Supervisor role at Mackinnon & Partners involves overseeing the repair, alteration, and preventative maintenance of our plant to enhance operational productivity. This position supervises mechanics to efficiently complete both planned and unplanned maintenance needs. In conjunction with the Maintenance Planner, this person is responsible for balancing priorities, manpower, material, and equipment availability to develop department and individual work schedules.
In this capacity, safety, quality of work, and productivity of the maintenance technicians are key concerns through direct leadership and coordination with the production department in a highly involved workplace.
- This role requires an intermediate level of proficiency in using root cause analysis to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Proficiency in electrical distribution systems and instrumentation is also essential.
- PLC programming, debugging, and troubleshooting skills are required.
- Knowledge of electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems as well as intermediate proficiency using variable frequency drives and AC & DC drives is necessary.
- A solid understanding of rotating equipment, machine design, bearings, and lubrication is expected.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, and sketches is also required.
- Familiarity with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures is desired.
- Strong Communication Skills are essential for success in this role.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are also crucial.
Education/Experience
- A minimum High School Graduate/GED Equivalent, College Degree and/or Trade Certification are preferred.
- 5 years skilled trade experience, plus supervisory experience are required.
