Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating 3-5 Axis milling centers and manufacturing cells in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Makino's Modular Machining Complex (MMC2) technology, as well as experience with Fanuc Macros and machine variables in NC Programs.
They will also have a full understanding of CNC editing and programming, including CAM programming software such as Surf cam, UG/NX, and Master Cam.
A strong background in automotive aftermarket products is a plus, as is experience working with Renishaw probing routines.
The successful candidate will be able to read and understand mechanical blueprints, and possess good attendance and punctuality records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate 3-5 Axis milling centers and manufacturing cells.
- Review manufacturing documents and ensure quality standards are met.
- Install tools and tooling in carousels and maintain equipment to company defined standards.
- Work with multiple organizational boundaries and disciplines to achieve project goals.
- Document setups and train other personnel on proper setup and operation of jobs.
- Maintain heightened awareness of project schedules and ensure jobs are setup and run based on project deadlines.
- Anticipate and mitigate obstacles in the setup and operation of jobs.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes accordingly.
- Ensure processes and procedures are executed in accordance with company ISO Standards.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Manufacturing Engineers to identify and mitigate risk in the production process.
- Take responsibility for the cleanliness and organization of the work cell to 5S standards and Safety Standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of programming and setting up horizontal and vertical CNC machines.
- Strong knowledge of Shop Skills and shop environment.
- Experience working with NX/Unigraphics programming.
- Ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision and follow up.
- Team oriented and good communication skills.
- Lean Manufacturing skills a plus.
- Knowledge and use of shop floor inspection tools.
Experience and Education:
- High School diploma.
- Minimum 10 years of CNC Experience.
- Able to read and follow Work Instructions.
- Knowledge using NX.
- In-depth knowledge and interpretation of CNC Programming language (G-Code).
- Read and Understand Set up Sheets.
- Knowledge of Cutting Tools and cutting parameters (Speeds/Feeds).
- Familiar with FANUC, MAS-5, Haas, and similar CNC controls.
