Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive and engaging curriculum across various subjects, tailored to the upper school level and aligned with Maclay School's academic standards.
• Employ a range of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles, encourage active participation, and stimulate intellectual curiosity among students.
• Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and personalized support to foster academic achievement and personal growth.
• Cultivate a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respectful dialogue, collaborative learning, and a positive student-teacher relationship.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities that enrich the educational experience and broaden students' perspectives.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of educational trends and best practices in pedagogy and subject matter expertise.
• Serve as a mentor and advisor to students, guiding them in their academic journey, college preparation, and personal development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject area; a Master’s Degree or higher is preferred.
• Extensive experience in upper school education, with a proven track record of effective teaching and student engagement.
• Deep knowledge of subject matter, with the ability to inspire a love of learning and critical thinking in students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
