Job Summary
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote a safe and healthy workplace for employees and visitors. This role involves monitoring compliance, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Job Duties
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental protection, occupational health, and workplace safety.
Conduct facility inspections and audits to identify potential environmental or safety hazards, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials or bio-waste in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, analyze data, and implement preventative measures to reduce risk.
Prepare and submit accident and incident reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records and documentation to support regulatory compliance and internal reporting.
Promote and uphold 5S standards by ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Adhere to all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
Provide guidance and training on EHS policies and best practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
2 to 4 years of experience in environmental health and safety or a related field.
Ability to handle moderately complex issues and escalate more complex matters as needed.
Experience in coaching, mentoring, or providing guidance to junior team members.
OSHA certifications preferred
