Job Summary
Oversees the work of a team of buyers or purchasing clerks who purchase goods or services, both direct and indirect.
Job Duties
Ensure all purchases adhere to established policies and procedures
Prepare and deliver purchase orders or requisitions, place orders with vendors and follow up to ensure delivery, resolve issues or concerns and verify invoices in order to approve payment
Coordinate procurement strategy and direct material forecasts
Maintain records of completed orders or payments
Manage supplier relationships and performance records (supplier scorecards)
Manage spending and identify material cost out opportunities
Review and negotiate contracts (indirect services and direct materials)
Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures and practices
Lead and direct the work of other employees
Typically have some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions
Typically require a master's degree and/or 5-10 years of experience
Experience with Global supply chains
