Inertia Engineering is seeking a talented Purchasing Manager. The position involves planning, directing, or coordinating the activities of purchasing agents and related workers involved in purchasing materials and products.
This role is based in our facility located in Stockton, CA.
What You’ll Do
Locate vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies
Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need to Excel in This Role
Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures and practices
Lead and direct the work of other employees
Typically have some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions
Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience
Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills
