Macmillan is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO) team. This role will lead the execution of critical technology-driven projects focused on royalties management and Bibliosuite. The Technical Project Manager will oversee cross-functional teams, ensure seamless system integrations, optimize royalty workflows, and manage end-to-end project delivery with a focus on efficiency, automation, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong technical acumen, experience in software implementation, and expertise in royalty systems, ensuring smooth system performance while aligning project goals with business needs. This is a 12-month contract opportunity.
Major Responsibilities:
- Technical Project Management:
- Lead end-to-end technical project execution, including system enhancements, upgrades, and new technology implementations for royalties and Bibliosuite.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, technical roadmaps, and resource allocation strategies to ensure project milestones are met.
- Collaborate with IT, finance, legal, and content management teams to align business and technical requirements.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in royalty tracking, metadata management, and contract rights processing.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring adherence to security, compliance, and industry best practices.
- Utilize project management and DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, Asana, MS Project) for tracking progress, issue resolution, and delivery.
- Technical Analysis & Solution Implementation:
- Partner with business analysts, developers, architects, and data teams to ensure seamless system integrations and performance optimization.
- Provide technical guidance and documentation to ensure smooth user adoption and system sustainability.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to drive project alignment.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, SLAs, and implementation timelines for royalty solutions.
- Present project updates, technical challenges, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
Required Skills / Knowledge:
- Technical & Industry Expertise:
- 8-10 years of experience in technical project management, preferably in publishing, media, or entertainment industries.
- Hands-on experience with Bibliosuite (configuration, implementation, and optimization. (strongly recommended)
- Strong knowledge of royalties management, metadata standards, and contract rights workflows.
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools for royalty analysis is a plus.
- Experience working with alternative publishing and rights management suites, such as Klopotek, Consonance, Stison, FADEL Rights Cloud, LSC Publishing Solutions, or RoyaltyZone.
- Project Management & Leadership:
- Strong ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and manage cross- functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience with contract rights management systems and licensing workflows.
- Certifications (Preferred but Not Required): PMP, PRINCE2, CBAP, CSM, or SAFe Agile certification.
Educational Background Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent work experience.
This position will have an hourly rate up to $64/ hour. The successful candidate will be employed through Headway Workforce Solutions.
