JPW Erectors, Inc. located in Syracuse, NY is currently seeking to add a qualified Senior Project Manager / Estimator to join their team! The Project Manager/Estimator position plays a key role in the success of the company. The PM role involves the overall management of assigned structural and miscellaneous steel erection projects from pre-construction through the close out of the project, doing so on time and within budget. The Estimator role is essential in the feasibility and success of a project, in that they look beyond basic information and ask the right questions to assemble a complete and accurate estimate.
Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience and qualifications

Responsibilities
Senior Project Manager Role: Essential Functions & Skills
- Demonstrate understanding of project cost reports, financial records, productivity measurement and related project documents
- Accurately forecast project costs, expenses, and utilization of resources
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines
- Ability to direct and coordinate the activities of the project team to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget
- Comprehension of construction documentation including drawings, schedules, and scopes to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Follows established standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation
- Develops and maintains relationships with clients and potential clients to help develop new opportunities
- Develop reports to include hours, tasks, equipment, etc.
- Collect daily/weekly reports and photos from jobsites
- Supervise structural and miscellaneous steel erection teams, participating in resolution of labor and union issues as needed
- Ability to directly manage schedules including the development of project schedules for all construction/support activities, updates for the project schedule, etc
- Manage day-to-day administrative items such as RFI’s, submittals, contracts, change orders
- Lead and participate in project financial review meetings
- Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities, as necessary
- Ability to work under time constraints, adapt to changing requirements, and willing to put in the extra hours as required to complete important tasks on time, all with a positive attitude
- Valid NYS driver license is required for regional travel to project sites. Position may require evening and or weekend hours in addition to overnight travel
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft office suite, to include Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, and other construction related software to include CAD & Crane Planning software
- Proficient in Timberline cost estimating software
- Experience in multi-site projects preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or related field preferred
- OSHA 30-hour course
Estimator Role: Essential Functions & Skills
- Prepares a complete and accurate bid tab, compiling general conditions, trade proposals and applicable self-perform work
- Responsible for accurate material take-off
- Quantifies number of field hours, equipment, materials, etc to erect structural steel and miscellaneous metals
- Determines installation schemes to establish crew sizes and duration
- Develop comprehensive, detailed proposals for the project estimated
- Asist in preparation of post bid submissions
- Assist in preparation of preliminary project schedules
- Engage and develop business with new and existing customers
- A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude
- Flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines

Physical Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together
- Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
- Average, ordinary visual acuity is necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products
- Sedentary work; sitting for periods of time. Exerts up to 10lbs occasionally
